Mr. Linton graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1978 after completing undergraduate work at Yale and BYU. Following law school, he clerked for judges on the D.C. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, located in Salt Lake City. He served as legal counsel at Intermountain Healthcare from 1982 until retiring in 2016, focusing his legal practice on bioethics, corporate law, computer law, and HIPAA regulation. He earned a certificate in healthcare ethics from the University of Washington in 1990.
Mr. Linton teaches legal drafting at J. Reuben Clark Law School. He has served on the Utah Constitutional Revision Commission, the American Health Lawyer’s Information and Technology Committee, and the BYU Alumni Board. He has also served as the President of BYU’s Law School Alumni Association and is a member of Scribes.
